Age 94 of Edina, passed peacefully on October 31, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents Alfred & Ruby Nelson, brother Gordon, and sisters Maren and Bernice. Survived by her husband Roy; Children David (Lauren), Bruce (Betsy), & Cammie (Garth) Dietrich; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Cammie was born on June 26, 1931, to Alfred and Ruby Nelson in Minneapolis. Raised in Minneapolis, she graduated from Southwest High, The Tobe'-Coburn School of Fashion (NYC), and the University of Minnesota where she was a member of the Pi Phi sorority.
Her long retail career began as a Fashion Buyer at Bloomingdales in New York City and continued with Donaldsons in Minneapolis, and concluded at Olson Brothers in Edina.
Cammie and Roy were married in 1956. Together for 70 years, they established a home in Edina, they enjoyed Friday night dance club, attending music concerts, golf, summers on the St. Croix River, traveling to Europe, California, Florida, but her favorite place was her Scottsdale winter home. She enjoyed the arts, volunteering and supporting the University of Minnesota, the Pi Phis, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Gustavus Library Associates, Mt. Olivet Altar Guild and Mt Olivet Homes and Rolling Acres. She was most passionate about her family and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be forever in our hearts and thoughts. She will be dearly missed. She always told her family to "Just Have Fun!"
Special thanks to the caregivers from Brighton Hospice and Brightstar, and the Mt. Olivet community.
A private interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mt Olivet Rolling Acres
