Candace Jean (Cassity) Chatfield, seventy-five, of Orient, Ohio passed away September 10, 2024 at, her home. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Daniel Seth Chatfield, daughters Heather (John) Sayre, Amy (David) Rywalski, and Meghan (Eric) Merritt; six accomplished and beloved grandchildren; Morgan and Emma Rywalski; Isabel and Payton Sayre; and Jake and Max Merritt. Other survivors include brother Timothy (Kathi) Cassity; nephew Robert (Ciara) Cassity; and nieces Katherine (Christopher) Hodge, and Kari (Joshua) Ward, sister-in-law Janet Burton; brother-in-law Art (Terri) Chatfield; Dan’s twin brother David (Debbie) Chatfield; sister-in-law Virginia (Jerry) Moore; brother-in-law Tim Chatfield; brother-in-law Kevin (Karen) Chatfield and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

She was preceded in death by her son Christopher Daniel Chatfield, parents Robert and Harriett Cassity, parents-in-law John and Ruby (Jones) Chatfield, brother-in-law Richard Burton and sister-in-law Christine (Chatfield) Burton and brother-in-law Raymond Burton, and brother-in-law Robert and sister-in-law Marilyn Chatfield.

Candy was an active member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church for many years. 

She attended Mt. Carmel School of Nursing, graduating June 15, 1986. Candy pursued a career in nursing and worked at Mt. Carmel, in private practice offices in Columbus, OH, and Ohio Health Riverside Hospital. She retired from Riverside in 2013 to babysit her twin grandsons.

Family was the cornerstone of Candy’s life. She found great pleasure in sharing in the activities that brought happiness to her husband, children and grandchildren. Whether it was their hobbies, cheering from the sidelines, or simply spending quality time together, Candy’s happiness came from being involved in the lives of her loved ones.

A visitation be held in her honor at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest in Grove City, Ohio, on September 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Additionally, there will be another visitation at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church in Galloway, Ohio, on September 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:30 AM.
