Judith Chatfield

ROCKFORD – Judith Chatfield, age 83, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Born in Rockford on February 24, 1942 to W. Clifford & Evelyn Flood (Larson). Judy retired after many years working as a teller at Bank One/Chase in Rockford. Caring, kind and patient, Judy adored her grandchildren and cherished spending time with them any chance she could. She loved playing Yahtzee, picking lilacs, finding bargains at garage sales and was always tuned in listening to the police scanner or watching reruns of the Golden Girls. Her most favorite time was spending holidays with her family. Beloved, grandmother, sister and dear friend, she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved grandchildren; Stephen Vann, Veronica (Ryan) Beair and Sara Malloy; great grandchildren, Noelle Malloy and Mason Beair; sister, Barbara Lutzow; brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson; Sara's mother, Bethany Malloy; Stephen and Veronica's mother, Cheryl Jackson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her son, Ronald Dale Malloy; sister, Mary Ellen Johnson; brother-in-law, Maynard Lutzow; and her parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial to be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2715 S Mulford Rd., Rockford, with visitation from 12:30 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
