Candace C. Gilday

Candace C. Gilday, 44, of Ludlow and formerly of Hampden, passed away after a brief illness at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Candace was born in Springfield on May 19, 1980, the daughter of Richard D. and Eda (Fusco) Gilday of Hampden. Candace was a graduate of Minnechaug High School, Class of 1998. She also attended Westfield State University. She was currently employed at Baystate Medical Center as a Surgical Scheduling Specialist. Candace loved sports, especially softball and volleyball. She enjoyed going for walks on the beach with her dog Rudy. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas T.J. Gilday in 2011. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her partner Nuno Rodrigues of Ludlow, a brother Richard A. Gilday of East Longmeadow and a sister Gina Faustino of Longmeadow, her three nieces Gianna, Gabriella, Daniella and a nephew Colin. She also leaves her uncle Anthony Fusco and his wife Diane of Las Vegas, NV., an Aunt, Patricia Mushenko of East Longmeadow, her cousins, Kristy Fusco of Agawam, Michael Mushenko and his wife Laurie, Mark Mushenko and his wife Nikki, and Steven Mushenko and his wife Laura, her friend Chris who stayed with her until the end, as well as many dear friends and a large extended family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 4pm-6pm at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118. Candaces funeral and burial will be private at the familys request. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA, 01104.
