Candace "Candi" (Schuetrum) Hemerick, 57, a resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, December 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Candi was born in Shenandoah on September 16, 1967, a daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth (Bright) Schuetrum. She was a 1985 graduate of the Shenandoah Valley High School, and worked several jobs in the local area including being a kitchen assistant at the former Creekside Restaurant in Ringtown and most recently a cashier at Boyers Food Market in Shenandoah.
Candi's love for cooking was second to her love of her grandchildren. Her life revolved around cooking and caring for her family, and nothing brought her more satisfaction. She had also mastered the game of Candy Crush and found pride in knowing that she spent more time waiting for the release of new levels than she did actually playing the game.
In addition to her parents, Candi was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wirtz and Donna Ford; a brother, Richard Schuetrum, Sr.; and a grand daughter Isabelle.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Mark Hemerick, a son, Anthony Foresman and a daughter Dana Horan. The four grandchildren who were her world, Anthony Foresman, Jr; Madelyn Houser; Braxton Litchko and Addison Horan also survive.
Three brothers and a sister, Nelson G. Schuetrum, Roger Schuetrum, Scott Schuetrum and Darlene Wonderlick also survive along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. Candi is also survived her best friend and niece who she treated more like a sister, Sherri Rudloff.
Candi will be laid to rest at the United Methodist Cemetery in Ringtown during private funeral services, which are being provided by the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home.
