James F. Labenberg, 91, a longtime resident of Union Twp., Schuylkill County, currently of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at The Williamsport Home.

Jim was born in Union Twp. on May 9, 1934 son of the late, Russell Henry Labenberg and Emma Mae Zimmerman.

A farmer, he worked the family farm with his brother Robert for many years before moving south to become a cotton ginner, the to work in auto parts manufacturing, but he was always a farmer at heart and moved back to the Williamsport area to be close to family. Jim and his wife have been members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church since moving to Williamsport.

He served stateside during the Korean War serving at Fort Benning, GA and that is where he met his wife, Sally A. Seay. They married on December 23, 1956 and celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2025. Surviving in addition to his wife are their children; James R. Labenberg of Williamsport and Dinah C. Labenberg of Montoursville.

In addition to his parents, a brother Robert Labenberg preceded him in death.

Memorial services for Jim are being planned for both here in Williamsport and his hometown of Ringtown.

Jim's wishes are to cremated and placed on the family farm.
