Candace Vicky Jackson (Candy), age 81, of Plainfield, went home to be with the lord on November 19, 2025. Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and take comfort knowing she is now made whole in his presence. Born on January 30, 1944, Candy lived a life marked by faith, kindness and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was an amazing artist and loved the opportunity to share her talent through teaching others. Prior to retirement, Candy served as the Office Administrator for the Office of Hearing and Appeals, where she worked for 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, Julia Jackson (Andrew Matthews); grandchildren, Kelsey and Will Matthews; siblings, Jim (Jan) Friel, Bill Friel, Chet Friel, Faith Hettle (Bud Hereid) and Hope (Terry) Whitmoyer; brother in-law, Jim Hettle; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all who she loved dearly. Candy is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Jackson. Funeral services will be held at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of a life well-lived and soul now at rest with the Savior from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
