Clement John Jackson was born on January 19, 1935, in the Bronx, New York to Sidney and Mary "Mae" Jackson.

In 1952 he joined the United States Air Force and was Honorably discharged in June of 1956. He joined the New York State Troopers in 1957.

In those days Troopers could choose their troop and Clem chose Malone, New York because it was as far away from New York City as he could get. During his career he served as a Trooper, a Sargent, a Zone Sargent, a BCI investigator and Senior Investigator, Troop B. In 1961 he became one of the first Scuba Divers for the New York State Police. In 1978 he became a hostage negotiator for the State police. In 1976, during the Montreal summer Olympics, he and one of his closest friends Roy Garrant were stationed in Montreal for 12 weeks to learn the security requirements for the 1980 Olympics, in Lake Placid. After completing that assignment in 1976, the next four years were spent preparing security for the 1980 Olympics Games. Upon his retirement in 1981 as Senior Investigator, BCI for Troop B, Clem worked at Ayerst laboratories for 5 year. He then went to work for the US Customs and Boarder Protection for many years before he finally retiring for good at the age of 70, after working as a Court Officer for the Clinton County Court System.

In June of 1958, Clem met the love of his life at Toot-and-Tell-Em restaurant. Margaret "Peg" Jackson was on summer break between her Junior and Senior year at St. Lawrence University and working as a waitress and he was a young trooper who stopped for the coffee and a piece of pie.  They were married on June 20, 1959. Their marriage lasted over 66 years.

Prior to his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, he was a avid bicycle rider taking part in multiple 100-mile rides, and enjoyed participating in the New York City 5 Borough Bike Tour, which he rode many times. In his earlier years he was a runner and loved to downhill ski.

He is survived by his loving wife Peg and son Chris, both of Plattsburgh, two granddaughters and a grandson, Kristin Armstrong and her husband Jamie Armstrong of Phoenix Arizona, Allison Moore and Zachary Moore both of Plattsburgh. A sister, Helen Corcoran of Portland Oregon and his Bother in-law Albert Otto of Fountain Valley, California, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and youngest sister Patricia "Patsy" Mausucci, two daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Jackson and Susan "Sue" Moore and his Mother in-law and father in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" and Curtis Eells.

Calling hours will be on November 23, 2025 from 1pm - 3pm at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, NY.
