Candace L. Pierce, 69, of Wakefield, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Westerly Hospital. Born in Exeter, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late Brud and Shirley (Skuce) Allen.
Candace dedicated her career to serving others with compassion and care. She worked as a valued member of the support staff at the former Ladd School in Exeter, as well as at other facilities, where she made a meaningful difference in the lives of those she served.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, working on puzzles, and spending time reading.
She is survived by her children, James T. Burns, Jr., Amy Smith, her grandchildren, Brittany Rousseau, Jamess T. Burns III, Iyla Burns and Bently Hammond, four great grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Jania, and Nakoda and one great grandchild on the way, her brothers, Timothy, William, Jeff and TJ Allen and a sister, Sandra Williams.
Services for Candace will be private.
