Candice A. (Swedish) Mitrik
Candice A. (Swedish) Mitrik, age 61, of Pittsburgh, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.
Candice was the daughter of the late Rosella A. (Muckle) and Raymond C. Swedish, both whom she loved and cared for her entire life. She was the beloved wife for 31 years of Ronald S. Mitrik and the loving mother of Shayla and Jordan Mitrik. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Candice attended St. Benedict Academy and graduated in 1978. As a mother, she had fond memories of sharing family time at Walt Disney World and spent many years volunteering at her kids' schools and extracurricular activities.
A woman of many gifts and talents, she is perhaps best known for her baking. To many, particularly her family, she was known as the "Cookie Queen" and delighted many across the world with her cookies and baked goods. When she wasn't cooking or baking for others, she enjoyed spending time with her two kids, whom she cherished most of all. She truly was the rock of her family, and she will be dearly missed.
Family will welcome friends Tuesday and Wednesday 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 388 Center Ave., West View, PA 15229. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Northgate Church, 238 West View Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15229. Entombment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
