Candice Robertson Obituary

Candice Ann Robertson
Candice "Candie" Ann Robertson, 75, of Whispering Pines, NC passed away on January 14, 2025, at her home with her daughters by her side.
Candice was born in New York City to Ruth and Charles "Bud" O'Keefe on May 22, 1949. She grew up on Long Island, graduating from Seton Hall high school in Patchogue, New York in 1967 before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography - Cartography from Briarcliff College. Candice enjoyed a varied and fulfilling professional career beginning as a cartographer for environmental consulting firms representing major oil companies, later teaching tennis with Dick Gould in Palo Alto and prior to her retirement working for the Darien Board of Education for almost 20 years.
A lifelong sportswoman, Candice excelled in her younger years in swimming, softball, field hockey, and basketball. Later, she developed a passion for tennis, paddle, golf– in the 1980s, her 30s – and pickleball. Along the way, she
collected varsity letters, awards, and trophies, including club championships at Silvermine Golf Club, member guest titles at Southward Ho, and prestigious wins at the Jeanne White Open.
The collection Candice valued most was her friends and family – children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Together with them she found joy in reading, opera, theatre (especially musicals), travel, the NY Times Connections puzzle and, of course, golf. Candice is survived by her brothers Kevin, Colin, and Greg O'Keefe; daughters Lindsay (Gene) Previdi and Kelsey(Jonathan) Webster; grandchildren CJ and
Pearson Previdi; and grand-dogs, Poppy and Mullen Previdi. She was predeceased by her grand-pug, Victoria Elizabeth Robertson-Webster.
Memorial services will be held at Wee Burn Country Club, in Darien, CT on Friday, February 7 at 3 p.m. and at The Country Club of Whispering Pines in Whispering Pines, NC on Tuesday, February 11 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien, CT on Thursday, February 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. and at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, NC on Monday, February 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.

I briefly worked with Candie when she was consulting at DPS. I'm afraid she was genuinely shocked that i neither played golf nor understand the allure of hitting a little white ball into unknown territory. She was kind, quite amusing and an all around nice coworker. I'm so sorry you didn't get to enjoy your retirement to the extent you were looking forward to. Sending your family my sincere sympathy, peace and prayers to comfort them. Rest easy Candie.
