Candida Au Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tomon and Sons Funeral Homes - Old Brooklyn on Dec. 2, 2025.
Candida Jo (Reedy) Au, 54, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Born on August 22, 1971, in Mansfield, Ohio, at the old Mansfield General Hospital on Glessner Avenue, Candida was the first daughter of Larry Reedy and the late Mary Ann (Cochran) Reedy.

In late 1971, over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Candida moved with her parents to the Little Rock, Arkansas area. She attended grade school in Sheridan and East End, Arkansas, before her family relocated to Clinton, Mississippi, in July of 1984. Even at a young age, her determination and intelligence stood out-she represented Grant County in the Arkansas State Spelling Bee as a seventh grader, competing against older students at the state championship level.

In 2007, Candida made another meaningful transition in her life when she returned to Northeast Ohio with her children. She embraced this new chapter with the same resilience, warmth, and devotion that defined her, building a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Candida lived a life defined by love, compassion, and devotion to others. She cherished her family and friends deeply. She adored her dog, enjoyed sitting outside feeling the wind, and believed in the importance of people coming together no matter the occasion. Her home was a place of refuge; her door was always open to anyone who needed comfort, understanding, or simply a safe place to feel valued and respected.

Above all, Candida was a woman of strong Christian faith. She loved Jesus wholeheartedly and trusted Him without hesitation. Her life reflected her belief in God's goodness, and she faced every trial with courage, peace, and unwavering faith.

She loved without limits. She taught and encouraged. She challenged those she cared for to grow. She comforted the hurting and cared for all who crossed her path. Her gentle strength, warm smile, and joyful laugh made every room lighter.

Candida is survived by her loving husband, David Au; her children Chelsi Langdon, Chasity Langdon, Christal Langdon, Jonathan Langdon, Bobby Au, Devin Au, and Darren Au; her father Larry Reedy; her brother Russell Reedy; and her sister Judy (Reedy) McClendon.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann (Cochran) Reedy; paternal grandparents Marvin Everett Reedy and Ethel Francis (Rachel) Reedy; and maternal grandparents Benjamin Cochran and Mary Josephine (Orthmeyer) Cochran.

Candida will be remembered for the powerful love she carried, the joy she spread, and the unwavering kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through her children, her family, her friends, and the countless lives she touched.

She will be forever missed, forever honored, and forever loved.
A Celebration of Candida's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1-4 P.M., in the Party Room at West Brook Village Apartments, 4000 West Brook Drive, Brooklyn, OH 44144.
