Maureen A. Krol

Maureen A. Krol (nee Freas), dear daughter of the late John R. and Virginia M. Freas, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2025. Loving wife of Kenneth H. Krol for 47 years. Beloved mother to Lauren Hogg (Jay), Jonathan Henry Krol (Jennifer) and Ellen Monti (Ryan). Devoted grandmother to Jaxson Hogg; Abigail, Madelyn, Jacob Henry, and Benjamin Krol; and Olivia, Louie, and Laney Maureen Monti. Dear sister of John (deceased), Michael (Marilyn), Robert (Maurita), Virginia (Richard), and Raymond (Mary Ann). Dear sister-in-law to Janice Karberg and Cynthia Boehm (Keith). Dear aunt to 18 nieces and nephews. Maureen grew up in Mayfield Village. She attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary, Notre Dame Academy (NDCL), and John Carroll University, earning a business degree in marketing. Maureen worked for Halle's Department Store in downtown Cleveland in the assistant buyer program for home goods. She then worked in the office of agricultural chemicals at Diamond Shamrock Corp. in downtown Cleveland.

Years later, she achieved her certification in elementary education from Cleveland State University. She then taught third grade at Our Lady of Good Counsel / Mary Queen of Peace Elementary School in Cleveland from 1999 to 2012.

Maureen encouraged others to live their own lives to the fullest; to embrace their unique talents and use them to make the world a better place; to understand that every day is an opportunity to learn, to grow, to serve, to love. She lived by the motto: "love as many people as you can, as much as you can, for as long as you can."

Catholic Funeral Mass is November 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM in St. Barbara Church, Denison Ave., Cleveland, OH 44109. Family will receive guests at the Church one hour prior to services.

The family wishes to express gratitude to Cleveland Clinic Hospice and the caregivers there who gave exceptional care to Maureen.
