Dennis T. Franta ObituaryDennis T. Franta, passed away peacefully from a long battle with dementia on November 9, 2025, at Stow, Ohio. He was 76 years old. Dennis was born on October 11, 1949, to the late Edward and Margie (Harland) Franta at Canton, Ohio,
A proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, Walsh College, and Cleveland State University. Dennis earned a Master's Degree in Business administration and forged a successful career as a Purchasing Agent.
Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed music and grilling meat, and was especially known for his wise cracking jokes. He will be missed but will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by father, Edward; mother, Margie; brother Mark, and sister-in-law, Teri (spouse of Timothy). Dennis is survived by former wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Franta and their children, Denise (Yancarlo) Franta of Oak Park, IL, David (Jenny) Franta of Cincinnati, OH and John of Greensboro NC, brothers, Phillip (Myriam) of Columbus, OH and Timothy of Canton, OH; sister, Diane Kabatek of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Barb (spouse of late Mark), six grandchildren and several nephews and niece.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 19 in the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home 811 Grant St Akron, Oh from 10:00 am till Noon with a funeral service to be held at 11:30 in the funeral home.He will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Perry Twp., 3469 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, Ohio 44646. The family warmly invites friends and family to join in paying their respects and celebrating Dennis's life.
In this time of sorrow, the Franta family expresses their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. May Dennis rest in peace, and may we cherish the memories he has left us. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parks Foundation.
