Candy Wyms Adams

Candy Wyms Adams, better known as Moma, Ma, Granny, Grandma, GG, Granny Girl, Granny Candy, or Rose went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Charlotte, NC. She was born on May 6, 1949, in Radford, Va., the daughter of Evelyn Katherine Wyms and Walter Leonard Wyms. Candy attended the Christiansburg Industrial Institute, graduated from Radford High School, and completed studies at New River Community College with a focus in Secretarial Studies. She was a former employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and Lake Norman Day School. Above all, Candy loved God dearly. She also found joy in reading, writing poetry, and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed sports music, crime shows, coffee, tea, and spending time on her iPad. Most of all, she cherished laughter, storytelling, dancing, singing, and fellowshipping with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Walter Wyms and Max Snell Sr. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sonya Curry, Cleive L. Adams Sr. (Jill Adams), India French-Adams (Tiffeny French-Adams), Lyrissa Safford; their father, Cleive E. Adams, Jr.; her grandchildren, Stephen Curry (Ayesha Curry), Seth Curry (Callie Curry), Sydel Curry-Lee (Damion Lee), Cleive L. Adams Jr. (Jordan Adams), Nicholas (Zeke) Adams (Mercedes Boejetter), Chealcie Ayer (Alek Ayer) Mercedes Safford, Lexus Safford (Tavious Adams), Myha Lloyd, Zoe Wilson, Kyah (Buddy) Davis, Jasmine Rose, Lilee Blankenbeckler- Rose (Tyler Blankenbeckler-Rose), and Selina Rose; great grandchildren, Riley Curry, Ryan Curry, Canon Curry, Caius Curry, Carter (Juicy) Curry, Cash Curry, Cruz Curry, Daxon Lee, Daryn Lee, Dacen Lee, Jensen Adams, Micah Adams, Esther Adams, Jude Adams, Jadon (Mat Man) Adams, Landyn Perkins, Ila Renee Ayer, Braelyn Ayer, Asaun (Punkin Head) Adams, Amon Adams, and Franklin (Frank) Rose; brothers, Jack Snell (Vicky Snell) and Neil Wyms; sisters, Lulabelle Lewis and Connie Phillips (Terry Phillips); brother-in-law, Johnny Adams (Linda A. Adams); sisters-in-law, Marilyn Clements (Richard Clements), Marsha Tyree, and Lois Snell; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of love during this time. Keep the stories coming, as they warm our hearts. We are so grateful that God chose us to stand in this sacred place. Moma always led with LOVE and her motto for life was "Live and Let Live."
