Candace Irene "Candy" DeFusco, age 60, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at Stonebridge Senior Living – Adams Street.

She was born on January 6, 1965, in Los Angeles, Ca., the daughter of Theodore M. and Irene M. (Moan) Craven. She married the late Paul Francis Grimshaw and from this union came their three children. Candy married David DeFusco who preceded her in passing.

Candy graduated from Pilgrim High School in Warwick, Rhode Island, and then later graduated from Rhode Island Community College receiving a degree in nursing.

She had a deep love for animals, always showing kindness and compassion to every creature she met. Home was her favorite place, where she found peace and comfort in the simple joys of life. Candy had a unique and joyful spirit, reflected in her love of collecting all sorts of things, each item holding a special story or memory. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared and the quiet beauty of her presence will always be remembered.

She is survived by her children, Nichole Thruston (Ryan) of Jefferson City, Mo., Paul Grimshaw of Boiling Springs, Sc., and Zakary Grimshaw, of Pawtucket, Ri.; siblings, George White, David White, Terry Craven, Marilyn Mulholland, and Joyce Petrella; and grandchildren, Rory, Charlotte, Katherine, Bella, Haley, and Austin.

Candy is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Irene Craven; husbands, Paul Grimshaw, and David DeFusco; and siblings, Connie Ramsey, Deborah Guindon, Paul White, Teddy Craven, and Timmy Craven.

Services for Candy will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Candy DeFusco Memorial Fund.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
