Carl Anton Obituary
Carl was survived by two sisters: Barbara A. Dietrich, her two children and grandchildren, and Bette R. Anton. Carl was also survived by two sisters-in-law; Carol Arlene Nagel (husband Dr. Norman) with their four children, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and Ruth Maas Sones with her two children and two grandchildren. Carl additionally was survived by cousin Joan L. Goings and several other cousins.
Carl attended Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, IL earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Carl also attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ earning his Masters Degree in Education. Carl was a Lutheran principal and teacher in Long Island City, NY, a teacher in Pennsauken, NJ, and a teacher in Whitestone, NY. Carl then changed direction and attended Concordia Seminary in Springfield, IL earning his Master of Divinity Degree.
Carl was called to be Assistant Pastor and then Associate Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elmhurst, IL. In 1981, Carl was called to be Pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church in West Hartford, CT where he remained for 25 years until his retirement in 2006. Carl's passions were reading, traveling, golfing, and skiing.
During Carl and Joan's lifetime, they were truly blessed with an incredible amount of love and support from family members, friends, and all of their church families.
The service will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00 am at:

West Hartford, CT 06107

A luncheon will follow in the church undercroft after Carl's ashes are scattered in Bethany's Memorial Garden.

I just found this he was my pastor in Elmhurst he was great I was heart broken when he left for some reason I was thinking about him sorry to here he past away
