Carl W. Clapper "Old Dog", 81 of New Concord passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023 on his beautiful farm surrounded by family.
Carl was born in New Concord, OH on October 23 1941 to the late Mary "Opal" and Donald Clapper. Carl was a hard working farmer and a family man who always cared for his family and friends.
He was a 1959 graduate of New Concord High School. He was a timber cutter for many years. He was an avid fan of watching football and basketball games on tv. He loved to hunt, fish and cook whatever food he caught himself. He enjoyed running his fur shed in the winter months and farming in the summer months. Other hobbies included supervising Jimmy, Mark and Cody on the duties needing done around the farm.
He is Survived by Daughters Kim Clapper, Carla Fluharty, Kelly. Son Craig Clapper. Step son Mark Welsh. Son in law James Willey. Step Daughter Kimberly Linn. Many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Special people who Carl thanks dearly for all the hands on care in his later days were, son Mark Welsh, granddaughter Katie Welsh and granddaughter Alisha Smeltz.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother and sister in law, Eugene and Grace Anne Clapper; brother Willis Clapper; late ex wife Patty Welsh.
Visitations will be from 2 to 5 on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord at 63 West Main Street, New Concord, Ohio 43762. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 3,. Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate the service. Carl will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
