Carl “Lewitt” Crowder

 On December 11, 1967, Carl Lewitt Crowder was born in Chesterfield County, SC to Diana Simon Crowder and the late Dewitt Crowder.  He completed his earthly journey on Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home with his fiancé’ at his side. 

He attended the public schools in Anson County and was a graduate of Anson Senior High School.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Diana Crowder of Wadesboro; his loving and devoted fiance’ of 14 years, Cheryl Pearson of Wadesboro; his bonus children, Samantha Huddleston (Richard) of Wilmington, Linda Funderburk (Kevin) of Hampstead, and Christina Rouse (John) of Snead’s Ferry; his bonus grandchildren, Lewis, Lavinia, Castial, Khalisee and Chloe (fur baby); his brothers and sisters, Mitchell Crowder , Angelia Crowder, and Quinta Crowder all of Wadesboro, and Dewayne Crowder (Diana) of Albemarle;  his brother-in-love, Ricky Rhodes of Wadesboro; his uncles and aunts, Freeman Crowder (Annie) of Lilesville, Clifford Crowder, Deborah A. Grace, Mary O. Gaddy, McAlister Crowder (Lillie) and Alfred Crowder all of Wadesboro, Kenneth Simon (Judy) of Morven, Lee Simon (Diane) of Columbia, SC, Virginia Love of Largo, MD, Willie Ree Young of Greensboro, Larrice Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Doris E.Wilson of Charlotte, William Moore and Bobby Little both of Wadesboro; a special and long-time friend, Dwight Cox of Wadesboro and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He enjoyed watching wrestling and old school programs, such as, Adny Griffith, Leave it to Beaver and westerns on television. He often played games on his phone, enjoyed sports, putting together model cars, Legos, trips to Myrtle Beach, 1980’s video games, like, Pac Man and Asteroids, the Optimus Prime action figure.  

Lewitt could be found most any beautiful day, riding his motorized wheelchair around the neighborhood, visiting and shooting the breeze with his friends. He had an incurable sweet tooth and enjoyed Little Debbie Star crunch and Oatmeal cakes. 

He will be remembered as a loving and devoted fiance’, father figure, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM, Friday, March 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. 

Public viewing will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the funeral home.

The family is gathering at the home on Cemetery Street in Wadesboro.
