Carl Eldon Randolph Deeter, age 92 of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at Plum Creek Assisted Living. Born in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, PA, on March 25th, 1932, to the late Wesley L. and Meredith (Robb) Deeter.
Carl was a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School in Berlin, PA, class of 1950. A proud veteran of the Korea War, Carl served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. Following his service to his country, Carl worked at General Motors as a proud Union UAW, Local #1005 member as a Die Setter in Pressed Metal Operator for 37 years retiring in 1992. Carl loved visiting his homestead on the farm, deer hunting, and enjoyed spending precious time with his family. Carl was an early member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Brunswick and served on the property committee, where he served as an usher and helped clean and maintain the church grounds.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Phyllis B. Deeter. Four brothers, Gerald D., Paul D., Jack W., and Kirby R. Deeter. A sister, Patricia D. Sarver.
Survivors include his children, Melanie Kay (Bill) Shannon of Brunswick, Randy (Sandy) Deeter of Sheffield Lake, OH, Mary Beth (Matthew Webb) Andrews of Columbia Station, OH, and Jody (Joe) Buehner of Brunswick; grandchildren, Heather (Tyler) Melchior, Kelly (Jared) Prim, Richard (Fiancée, Jessica Keegan) Deeter, Bailey Buehner and Aiden Buehner; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Gaige, Caden, and Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews. Carl was a sweetheart, he will be missed by many especially the staff at Plum Creek Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21st at 11 a.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home Brunswick chapel, 1642 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, Ohio 44212, with Rev. Carolyn Wager-Hier as officiant. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Brunswick location. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carl’s name to a charity of your choice.
