STOW - Carl H. "Sonny" Esker, 87, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on August 9, 2022.
Born in Akron, he was a resident of Stow since 1967. Carl had been employed with Cintas in several leadership roles for over 20 years before retirement. He was a member of Saint Joseph Parish. Carl loved cars, had many friends, and you could always see him at lunch time at The Café in Stow engaging with people.
Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dixie Esker; parents, Carl A. and Mary Esker; brothers, Gerard and Don; sisters, Rita, Catherine, and Frances, he is survived by daughters, Beckie (Amos) Hershberger, Karla Conway, Paula (Duane) Bunker, Michelle (Sergio Sanchez) Waickman; sons, James (Melinda), John (Peggy Bardash), Carl (Brooke) Esker; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog of 17 years, Tinki.
Friends may call Tuesday, 5 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10 AM at Saint Joseph Parish, 1761 Second Street, Cuyahoga Falls 44221. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery.
