Carl W. Fye, 73, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 11:30 pm, Saturday, February 10, 2023 at the home of his brother in Olena, IL.
Carl was born June 19, 1950 in Burlington, IA, the son of Samuel and Frances (McGraw) Fye. He was raised and educated in Oquawka, IL.
Carl married Linda Nees in Monmouth, IL on June 29, 1972 and she passed away May 29, 2004.
He worked in construction, farming and later worked as a manager traveling to job sites for Artic Insulation for 15 years.
Carl enjoyed fishing, drinking with friends and family, being outdoors and just spending time with his family.
Survivors include his 3 sons, Bill (Jessie) Fye of Kirkwood, IL, Tim Fye and Sean Fye both of LaHarpe; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Clifford (June) Fye, Paul (Sandy) Fye and Carol (Marshall) Albert all of Kansas, Vallie (Ben) Mohnike, Everett (Lena) Fye, Kenny (Deb Teel) Fye and Truman Fye all of Illinois; sister-in-law, Sally Johnson of Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter, Nicole Fye; brothers, Virgil Fye and Lawrence Fye; brother-in-law, Tom Nees.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10:00-12:00 pm, Friday, June 28, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation has been accorded. A private family interment in Oquawka Cemetery will be at a later date.
