Carrie A. Pinkney, 44, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
She was born on April 24, 1981 in Fairfield, IA, the daughter of Allan and Cheryl (Hart) Taghon. Carrie was raised and educated in Fairfield and Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 2000.
Carrie worked for a time at Monmouth Nursing Home and later devoted herself to being a homemaker. She had a deep love for animals and found joy in caring for strays whenever they crossed her path. Above all, Carrie cherished the moments she spent with her family and friends, whose company meant the world to her.
Surviving Carrie are her children; Grace, Chasity, and Anna; her sister, Holly (Jason) Grover of Galesburg, IL; and her beloved cat, Lucy. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one cousin, Gus Roberts.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Carrie Pinkney Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
