Opelousas -It is of heavy heart we announce the passing of Carl Gauthier, 69 on April 13, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, by deacon Jerry Wyble.
Carl was born February 4,1955 in Lafayette, La. to Birdie Badeaux and Yennie Zeno (YZ) Gauthier. Carl was a lifelong resident of Pecaniere, La.
Carl graduated from Leonville High School and was a welder by trade. In 1998 Carl entered the National Championship contest in Norcross, Georgia winning the competition making us very proud. He took home a large trophy. Carl loved his work, and his work family at H & E Equipment. He enjoyed hunting, camping, cooking for family and friends and spoiling his wife and children. He was definitely a big wrestling fan and loved Monday Night Raw. He loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. He adored his wife.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother Birdie Badeaux, father YZ Gauthier, and stepmother Hilda Gauthier, Grandparents Helena and Yennie Gauthier, Sr. and Virginia and Regis Badeaux.
Carl is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen Martin Gauthier, sons Christopher Gauthier, Ryan Gauthier (Mary), Brandon Hunter Gauthier. Stepson Martin Fairley (Cheri). Sisters Carolyn Champagne and Patsy Degeyter. Granddaughter's Kira Gauthier, Karra Gauthier, Macy Martin, Kaitlyn Fairley, Jordyn Fairley, grandson, Eli Gauthier. To his grandchildren he was better known as their Popa. Don Williams was his best buddy in crime.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Gauthier, Ryan Gauthier, Hunter Gauthier, Martin Fairley, Devin Richard, Eli Gauthier, and Don Williams.
Carl will be deeply missed by all. Especially his wife Karen who will miss him every day.
