I worked for Mr's. Leonard & Carl Gerber Funeral Home, while a Junior and Senior at Western Reserve, but at that time was called Townsend-Wakeman High School. (1959 & 60) My job included work while embalming, cutting the lawn, shoveling snow, driving the Hurst vehicle during Funerals, running the vacuum cleaner, went on emergency ambulance runs with Carl? Eddy Davis took my place after graduation, and attended college of Funeral Directing for the Gerber Funeral Home. What a handsome Family the Gerber's were !!!!!!! So sorry to see the passing of my friend and boss, Carl Gerber ! I went on to attend Oberlin College, spend 10 years in ( 3 ) R&D Center's, West Virginia Pulp & Paper in Sandusky, and Sheller-Globe & BASF Wyandotte Chemical, in polymer research, in the Detroit, Mi, area, before spending 32 years as a OEM Polymer Sales Engineer to the Automotive manufacturing industry worldwide, with companies such as- LOF, Bridgestone, Keeler-Brass, Toyota Boshaku. & Magna. My last position was as Program Manager for Jeep Production in Beijing, China. While at Sheller-Globe, I became the co-inventor of the SAE approved Automotive Crash Dummy in 1968, for interior occupant protection components? My wife Jackie & I, bought a new home, in the Savannah, Ga., suburbs in 2017, where the 22 golf courses of Hilton Head & the Atlantic Ocean are only a few miles away. The temperatures are very comfortable year round. My hobby: Body off restoration of used Corvettes (8 to date) ? No salt rust down here. We both drive Lexus automobiles!
