Carl Gilmore, age 95 of Celina, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. He was born on December 12, 1929 to the late Ellis L. and Lelia Marie (Swank) Gilmore in Lima. On August 7, 1955, he married the love of his life Jeanette Eicher, who passed away on July 13, 2016. He is survived by his loving children Douglas (Kathy) Gilmore of Florida, Jeff (Jeanie) Gilmore of California, Michele (David) Rigali of Lima, Laura (Dave) McNeilan of Celina, sister Pauline Cooney of Lima, brother-in-law Morris Dingledine of Lima, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one more on the way.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brothers William (Gladys) Gilmore, Robert Gilmore, sisters Helen (Jack) Spicer, Dorothy Dingledine and brother-in-law Lee Cooney.
Carl graduated from Central High School with the class of 1947 and he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War from 1950 - 1954 when he was Honorably Discharged. He was a member of the Celina American Legion Post #210, Celina Moose Lodge, past member of the Elida Lions Club, an active usher and member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina and a 40 year trustee ADM BD member.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. Military Honors provided by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 will follow services. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Friends and family may call from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made out to EverHeart Hospice https://everhearthospice.org/. Condolences may be shared with the Gilmore family at LehmanDzendzelFH.com.
