Carl Franklin Groseclose of Carnegie, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City surrounded by family. Carl was born December 17, 1938 to Paul and Lorene (McCalip) Groseclose in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Carl was the oldest male sibling of five children. Carl married the mother of his five children, Ruth Jane (Stolle), in Reno, Nevada on March 11, 1957. His military service started in October of 1958. Carl was in the service for 8 years.

He and Ruth made their home in Porterville, California, where he was a foreman for Roberts Farms. When the oldest daughter (Sue) was a month old she was on a horse with Carl backpacking into the mountains around Porterville. He was a guide for many trips into the mountains around Porterville. In 1976 Carl and Ruth moved to Yuba City, California where he worked as a foreman for California Seed and Fertilizer. After Ruth passed away in 1994, Carl moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma to help his mother after his dad passed away. He helped his nephew drive a truck hauling peanuts, corn and wheat in Carnegie. Carl and his mother moved to Carnegie in 1999 where he helped Orval at the shop chasing parts or driving the wrecker.

On February 23, 2008 Carl remarried Carolyn Sue Miller. They shared many years of love and happiness.

Carl also had a passion for the car races. He loved helping push cars with a four-wheeler at Dutton's Speedway at Fort Cobb and at an indoor race in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Carl was the Commander of the American Legion Post #156 in Carnegie. He was instrumental in creating the Veteran's Memorial in Carnegie and at the Anadarko Court House.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth and his second wife, Carolyn Sue; granddaughter, Christina Groseclose; great-grand daughters, Brittany Marion and Shyanna Valdez; his two sisters, Pauline Sherrin and Arvella Groseclose; and his brother, Paul Jr. Groseclose.

Carl is survived by his children:

Sue Merchant and husband, Richard, of Carnegie;

Bill Groseclose and wife, Paula, of Carnegie;

Donnie Groseclose of Yuba City, California;

Paula Smith of Carnegie;

Ronda Langlois and husband, Tony, of Yuba City, California;

Stepchildren:

Allen Miller and wife, Katrina, of Comanche, Oklahoma;

Georgie Lovenburg and husband, Tim, of Carnegie;

Matt Miller;

His grandchildren:

Diana Brooks and husband, Joe; Charlie Duncan and wife, Cheri; Kevin Merchant, Shane Merchant,

Shannon Judd and husband, Jeremy; Dean Baxter and wife, Monique;

Kayd Smith; Kordel Smith;

Carley Langlois; Jessica Zembiec and husband, Ben; Alex Langlois; Tyler Langlois and wife, Yana; Brianna Hayter;

Mandy, Holly Mickley, Kallen, Kasey, Tiffany;

And a host of great-grandchildren and three great, great-grand children. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Groseclose and many nieces and nephews that loved Uncle Carl dearly.
