Carl Julian Hackathorn, 83, of Waverly, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born October 17, 1940, in Shultz, WV, to the late Carl Clarence and Della Virginia Hackthorn.
He graduated from St. Mary's High School on May 23rd, 1958 and joined the US Air Force. He worked for Carolina Freight as a truck driver and went on to work for ABF Freight System, Inc. He retired in 2002.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joni Hackathorn, son David (Chris) Hackathorn, daughter Julia (James) Hunt, daughter Jamie Hackathorn, son Julian Hackathorn (Alicia Marshall). Also brother Jim (Lynn) Hackathorn, brother Tom (Edith) Hackathorn, sister Martha Strickland, sister-in-law Karen (Jerry) Binegar, sister-in-law Andretta (Tim) Condon, brother-in-law Matthew Board, sister-in-law Barbara Board.
Grandchildren: Niki Shreves, Miranda Hackathorn, Jaden Bird, Garrett (Madison) Sunderman, Alexia Sunderman, Aven Hunt, Trenton Hunt, Payton Hunt, Jake (Kelly) Hackathorn and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Alicia Shreves and granddaughter Samantha Shreves.
Per his request, there will be no funeral services. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
