Alyssa Marie Hackathorn

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alyssa Marie Hackathorn, who left us on April 16, 2025, at the age of 45. Alyssa was born on June 13, 1979, and was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her-a woman of warmth, strength, and compassion.
Alyssa was preceded in death by Stella and Anthony Kutis, David and Betty Burkett, and Linda Logsdon.
She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 23 years, "Hack," and her devoted parents, Dave and Joan Burkett. She was a loving sister to Ashley Burkett, April Burkett, and Alexa Burkett-Stevey. She was adored by her nieces, Aubreigh Stradwick and Stella Stevey, and her nephews, Brayden Johnson, Adrian Johnson, Sutton Stevey, and Stratton Stevey. Alyssa also shared a deep bond with her cherished fur babies, Sophie and Mox, who brought her comfort and joy every day.
Alyssa lived a life full of passion and care. She loved cooking, a gift she shared with her grandma Stella, and found great peace and pride working in her flower garden-especially in tending to her beloved sunflowers. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her animals, and treasured the moments she spent with her nieces and nephews. Alyssa also found joy and satisfaction in creating a warm, clean, and welcoming home.
Alyssa had a heart filled with kindness and compassion. She leaves a huge emptiness in the hearts of all of us who loved her. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit and love will live on forever in our memories and in the lives she so deeply touched.
Family and friends will be received at a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, April 19, from 11:00 am until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Homes Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville.
