Carl Haliday Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Sep. 2, 2025.
Carl Daniel Haliday, 75, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on August 27, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of the late Fred and Evelyn Haliday. Carl proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic, medic, and crew chief, a role he carried with honor throughout his life. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Ancient City Car Club. Carl had an appreciation for old cars and spent countless hours building ship and car models. He loved the lore of pirates, the peace of fishing, and the satisfaction of landscaping. His hands and heart were always busy creating, tinkering, or tending to the things he loved most. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Jeanette; daughter, Michelle Kelleher; grandchildren, Cheyenne Warner, Tristan Warner, Morgan Warner; sister, Susan Sorensen and nephews, Jason and Jimmy Gastins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Victor Haliday. Memorial Service information will be announced at a later date.

So sad to learn of Carl's passing. He was such a kind and caring person, proud Veteran, and devoted friend. We really enjoyed his & Jeanette's company these past 7 years. Deepest sympathy to Jeannette and family.

We send our love and sympathy to all of Carl's family and friends. He was a wonderful friend we had known for a lifetime. He was my husband's best friend since elementary school and was the best man in our wedding in 1976. Carl was life unto hisself and a pleasure to be around and listen to his and Mike's old stories of growing up. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. We loved Carl and will continue to love him and remember he is in a better place and not suffering anymore. We feel sure he is in God's hands and telling him about his life, family and friends he has left behind. We love you and worship your friendship always.

I wish we could swap jokes on the back porch over oysters & cocktails one more time! I'll never forget how jovial he was when he saw a family member, or several during holidays growing up. As long as I'm around, a picture of you & your sister will always be on the wall.

A lifetime passed between these photos but it was a good life all the way. Bubbles up Bubba.

Carl, was a wonderful caring person. He always had a smile and warm heart. My condolences to Jeanette and the family. He is in heaven getting that big fish.

So sad to hear of Carl's passing.
We go way back to the 70's. He was a very good friend. Was just thinking of him in the last few weeks. May he rest in peace and have eternal life.
