Carl Eugene Ickes was born December 21, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan to Ronald and Beverly Ickes (Miles). He died December 28, 2023 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 65.
Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years, Gaye Wanda Ickes (Lyle) and his mother, Beverly Anne Ickes (Miles). Carl is survived by his loving daughters, Shelby (Wojtek) Berkowski and Allison Ickes; his father, Ronald Ickes; his brother, Steve (Kathryn) Ickes; his niece and nephew, Shannon (William) Seiler and Phillip (Emily Roehm) Ickes; his great niece and nephew, Alexis Seiler and Lucas Ickes.
Carl has been a resident of Commerce Township, Michigan for the past 32 years. He loved taking his boat out on Commerce Lake and taking the neighborhood kids tubing, just as he did when his children were little. He also enjoyed taking friends and family for rides in his Mach 1 Mustang. He had a thrill for "burning gas" as he would say, in any way that he can. He had a very active social life which included spending time with friends, playing in euchre tournaments, skiing, golfing, bowling, attending car shows and above all, spending time on the lake. He was a member of the Flaming Pistons Car Club. He was loved by so many in the Commerce community and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 340 North Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 11am - 2pm with a service at 2pm.
