February 23, 1953 - July 29, 2025
Carl Jay Taylor, Jr. of Holualoa, Hawaii, formally from Plano and San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Services and burial will be Monday, August 4th at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park in San Antonio beginning at 10am.
Jay was born on February 23, 1953 in San Antonio, TX to Carl Jay Taylor, Sr. and Mavis Graves Taylor. Jay grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Mac Arthur High School in 1971. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting at Southern Methodist University in 1975.
Jay loved to travel and visited over 30 countries. He has spent the last 4½ years living in Hawaii.
Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a nephew, Rick Ratliff. Jay is survived by his sister, Jean Ratliff (Don Wesch), brother, William H. Carder, III (Donna Marie), his nieces, Rene' Clark (Stuart), Tammy Lynn James (Scott), Debra Jean Moczygemba (Brian), nephew, Russell Ratliff, many great-nieces and great-nephews, best friends, Raymond and Peggy Schiflett and many close and wonderful friends.

Jay was my friend and frat brother in Delta Sigma Phi at SMU. Many good times with Jay and his yellow Ford Mustang Boss. Always had a great smile. Our fraternal chain has gotten shorter with his passing. May he rest easy in peace.
