Carl L. Jones, 75, of Gas City, passed away at 2:37 am on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, April 27, 1948, to Lester and Wanda (Harlan) Jones. He married Pam Althouse, who survives.
Carl graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1967. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Carl was a licensed electrician and had worked at Thompson Consumer Electronics and the Marion Water Department. He had owned and operated his own trucking company for many years. Carl was a member of the American Legion in Jonesboro. He spent most of his time working and being a proud provider for his family. He enjoyed riding motorcycles when he could. More than anything, Carl cherished his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife, Pam Jones of Gas City; daughter, Michelle (Freddie) Underwood of FL; grandchildren, Alyssa (Kaleb) Richards, Jessi Barker, Elijah Barker; great-grandsons, Karson, Asher, Jessi; brother, Danny (Melanie) Jones of FL; several nieces, nephews and friends; as well as his cat, Rascal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Wanda Jones; and sisters, Martha Jones and Patty Tabor.
The family will host a graveside service with an urn burial at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
