Carl Müller, 60 of Bloomington, formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
He was born January 23, 1965 in Peoria to Arden E. and Doris A. (Southern) Müller Sr. He married Sara J. Hardy in Bloomington on August 27, 2022. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Doris A. Müller; three children, Jill (Jered) Jerome, Emilie (Wesley) Heizer, Gracie Müller; five grandchildren, Keelee, Parker, Kamdyn and Tate Jerome, Caius Heizer; three step-children, Whitney (Derrick) Gordon, Elliott (Hailey) Uphoff, Isaac (Caitlin) Uphoff; five step-grandchildren, Rory and Charlotte Gordon, Madeline and Margot Uphoff, Oliver Uphoff; three siblings, Arden (Roland Savoie) Müller Jr., Ann Müller, Jeanine (Greg) Foster; and three nieces and nephews, Charlie and Samantha Nowitnik, and Jack Knoblauch. He was preceded in death by his father, Arden Sr.
Carl worked at CEFCU for 8 years, as a Washington Police Officer for 15 years, and was an electrician with William Masters Electric in Bloomington.
He was passionate about being athletic his whole life. He started with football, track and baseball in his younger years. He continued to enjoy running, cycling and weight lifting to stay in shape for competing in triathlons and numerous races throughout his adult life. He was also known to take long bike trips just to challenge himself. His most historic was a ride from Washington to Rockford. Carl's other passion was using his many talents to rehab houses for his rental business. Carl loved taking on a challenging project and always did beautiful work, and anyone who knew Carl recognized that all the work was for his goal of watching his investments grow.
He also found great joy in serving his city and neighbors as a part time police officer. This gave him opportunities to meet the people of his community and help where he could. Carl put determination into fighting a hard battle with cancer. He always held onto hope and his faith to enjoy each day until the end. He will be dearly missed by many friends and his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Friday, December 12th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, followed by a funeral service at 6pm. Per his wishes cremation will be accorded with inurnment at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
