Carl Robert Parrish Sr.

1937 - 2023

Carl Robert Parrish, Sr., 86, left us on February 20, 2023. Born in Hannibal, Missouri, Carl found his way to Virginia through the Air Force after graduating from Hannibal High School in 1955. For 38 years he served his country through civil service and as an airman.

Carl was a fierce golfer and enjoyed many hours with his buddies, Larry & Earl. He enjoyed discussing the game with his nephews, Danny & Steven.

Carl was a huge fan of racing. When his son Robby was four, they built a drag car together that brought trophies home. Family trips included races from Daytona to Michigan.

Carl loved & lived through his family. In 1959, he met Carrie, the love of his life, on Buckroe Beach. Married by December, they shared 60 years together. Eunice Moran, his sister-in-law, was there when they met and remained a constant presence in Carl's life. Whenever he needed help, Eunice was guaranteed to get a call. When he spoke of his great nephew, Scott Stinson, you could feel the love in his voice.

He was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, his sister, Helen, his niece, Suzanne (Danny) Stinson, his nephew, Steven Winstead, his sister-in-law, Eunice Moran and countless cousins in Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice, his brothers, Charles Jr., Darrell, his sister, Betty, and his son, Robby.

At this time, a service has not been scheduled due to health concerns of family members.
