Carl "Pop" A. "Boe" Read, 72, of Annville, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy A. Kreiser Read. On June 25th, they would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on January 27, 1951, he was the son of the late John W. and Gladys R. Kehn Read. Carl served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for Stoltz Trucking, CD & Son Trucking and various other trucking companies as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the Annville American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting, boating, and camping. He also enjoyed playing softball with the Pirates at Heisey's Field. He especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Andrew S. and his wife Ashley M. Read of Jonestown; brothers Charles Read of AZ, David Read of UT, and Dale Read of Annville; and his two granddaughters Destinee and Kennidee.
He was preceded in death by his son Johnathan C. Read, brother William Read, and sister Peggy Kirby.
There will be a viewing at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown, on Tuesday evening June 20, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Chapel Cemetery, Greenpoint.
