He was born in Derby on November 28, 1948, son of the late Leonard Sr. and Ruth (Olsen) Russell. Cal worked for Laticrete International as an engineer for over 45 years. He was known as Mr. Fix it, being able to help anyone and fix anything, especially his classic Plymouth car. Cal enjoyed trips to St. Martin, fishing, camping, hunting, bowling, gardening, and going to the casino.
Cal is survived by his brother Leonard Russell Jr. and his wife Linda, two sisters, Karen Ronan and Linda Eshoo, special nieces, J. Leigh Biasucci Satey and Susan Lynn Biasucci Galarraga, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Thursday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spooner House, 30 Todd Rd., Shelton, CT 06484.

I´m sorry to hear of Cal´s passing. I fondly remember our days haying and doing chores at Monks. Cal took me hunting and fishing many times. Always there when I needed help. He could fix anything. It´s too bad I moved away and we lost touch, but I´m glad we spent our early years together.
