Carl Elliot Seegars was born on April 6th, 1963, to the late Barbara Seegars and the late Willie Smith Jr. "Nick" as he was affectionately called, entered into eternal rest on February 27th, 2024, at Kershaw County Medical Center. Nick received his education at Mt. Pisgah Elementary School and North Central High School. After high school, Nick began a career in logging with Caroll King Logging. Nick later began working at Hailes Gold Mine until his health declined. He enjoyed reading novels, reading magazines, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Seegars; his father, Willie Smith, Jr., a sister, Sheila Wallace and a brother, Frederick Seegars.
Carl leaves to cherish his lifelong partner, Oree Blackwell of Bethune, SC; his sons, Jayme Blackwell ( Lisa Blackwell), James Blackwell and Robert Blackwell all of Bethune SC, and Phillip Miller of Durham, NC; his daughters, Tina ( Damon) Funderburk of Summerville, SC and Carla (Ahmad) Ransom of Bethune, SC; eight grandchildren, Miracle Blackwell, Ahmad Ransom Jr, Jayme Blackwell, Jr., Dillyn Funderburk, Cason Ransom, Jayandre Davis, Taurin Funderburk and Aidan Blackwell; two special cousins, Lucy Seegars-Oneal and Joseph Seegars both of Charlotte, NC; beloved sister and brother-in-laws; Ronnie Blackwell (Regina Blackwell), Faye Daniels (Mike Daniels), Roberta Blackwell(James Harrison), Andruel Holloman (Calvin Holloman), Linda Blackwell (Robert Shannon) and Jacqueline Carter (Albert Carter)and a host of family and friends.
" Nick" will greatly be missed by his family and friends.
