Carl B. Witwer, 92, of Lititz, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at his home. Born in Shillington, he was the son of the late Frank K. and Susan Burkhart Witwer. Carl was the loving husband of Jeanne D. Oliver Witwer and they observed their 70th wedding anniversary in September of this year. Carl worked as a System Technician for Bell Atlantic-Verizon Company; and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association of Lancaster County, where he served as Secretary, Tin Can Sailors Association, U.S. Navy Memorial Association, and the Ephrata VFW. Carl was an active and faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz, where he and his wife Jeanne hosted Bible studies for young couples of the church. Carl had a life-long passion for his family, and he cherished all the time he was able to spend with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Jeanne, is a son, Jayme S. husband of Susan Witwer of Wickenburg, AZ, a daughter, Susan C, wife of Harry Sowers of Fleetwood, three grandchildren: Katie Witwer, Rebecca wife of Paul Latterman, Timothy husband of Katherine Witwer and two great grandchildren: Valerie Latterman and Clark Latterman. Preceding him in death is a son, Carl B. Witwer Jr. and a brother, Warren B. Witwer.
Funeral services for Carl will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. John Center Lutheran Church Cemetery, East Earl.
