Obituary of Carl J. Zarcone
Carl J. Zarcone
Irondequoit: Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 75. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Connie. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty-Anne; daughter, Kate (Jarrod) Gorton; son, Peter (Claire) Zarcone; grandchildren, Hazel and Lilian Gorton, Edie and Carlo Zarcone; sisters, Carol (Ron) Routley and JoAnn (Frank) Messina; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Skye and Elaine Kiniorski; brother-in-law, Joe (Sandy) Gorall; numerous relatives, nieces, nephews, beloved cousins; lifelong friends, Ollie Hellert, Renny Hammond, Bill Diel and Bill Hugh and a limitless number of additional friends and acquaintances.
Carl was a collector of music trivia and vinyl (he called himself The Czar of Rock and Roll), stories, and jokes. He was always ready to join a party and have some fun.
Big Carl loved history, genealogy, the NY Yankees, games of chance and cards and never missed viewing the Triple Crown races or placing a wager on the Super Bowl. His remarkable personality and stature made him stand out and above any crowd.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, January 17 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.) where a prayer service will be held at 6:00pm. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
