Margaret "Midge" Zona, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Rochester,. Born on August 31, 1931, Margaret dedicated a remarkable 33 years to her career at Delco, working the graveyard shift, which is a testament to her hardworking spirit.
Margaret was known for her vibrant personality; she was funny, bubbly, outspoken, and the life of the party wherever she went. Her laughter and zest for life were contagious, bringing joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Margaret cherished her family deeply, and her home was often filled with warmth during Sunday dinners and family reunions, where love and memories were shared around the table.
She had a wide array of hobbies and interests that brought her immense happiness. Margaret enjoyed bowling and attending concerts, where her love for music flourished, especially while watching the Beatles tribute band, Eight Days A Week. Cooking for her family was another passion; she was well-known for her culinary skills and often prepared delightful meals for those she loved. Additionally, her affection for her many puppies was evident, as they added to the joyful atmosphere she created in her home.
Margaret took great pride in her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind her loving children, Peggy (Bill) Dube, Phillip (Adrienne) Zona, Julie Zona, Anita (Walt) Nellenbach, and Joseph Zona, her devoted daughter-in-law, Rita Zona, along with several grand and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Also surviving her are her brother, William Zona, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and John Zona; her stepmother, Angelina Zona; her husband, Phillip J. Sinaguglia - Zona Sr.; mother and father in-law Harry and Anne Sinaguglia. her son, Eugene Zona; her great-great-grandson, Michael; and several brothers and sisters, who will always be remembered.
A visitation with family will be held on December 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 6:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
Margaret Zona will be remembered for the love she shared, the laughter she instilled in others, and the legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of her family and friends.
