Carla C. Almeida-Thompson

Carla C. (Almeida) Almeida-Thompson, 57, of Quincy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 9, 2025. She was the wife of Ronald Thompson, Jr.

Born in São Nicolau, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Justiniano and Celeste (Soares) Almeida, she moved to the United States at 14 and lived most of her life in Boston.

Carla loved hosting family gatherings and getting everyone together. She was known as the family peacekeeper. Carla had daily conference calls with her sisters and every "Thirsty Thursday" they went out to eat together. She loved to cook, listen to music, travel and help others. Carla cared deeply about those in need and donated to local charities. She was an avid dog lover especially her boxer Akio.

Carla worked as a financial analyst at JP Morgan for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Thompson, Jr., her siblings, Joao Soares, Carlos Almeida, Baltazar Almeida, Rosa Almeida, Rosinda Almeida, Antonia Almeida, Ernestina Almeida, Joao Almeida, and Ana Almeida; her step-daughter Ashley Thompson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11 am in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society
