Carla (Watts) Corey, 81 of Lee, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Born on August 10, 1944, in Machias, Maine, Carla was the daughter of Imogene (Watts) and Perley Emery, and was later lovingly adopted by her stepfather, Lloyd Watts.
Carla married her high school sweetheart, John Corey, and together they built a life full of love, adventure, and resilience as an Air Force family, moving often and embracing the journey. They were blessed with three children: Timothy Corey, Mark Corey, and Debra Meattey.
Carla had a warm and giving spirit. She enjoyed serving her community through her work at the elections in Lee, NH, and found great joy in spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also had a deep love for animals, and treasured her cocker spaniels, Joy and Holly, with whom she shared many happy moments training and running agility.
She is predeceased by her parents, Imogene and Lloyd Watts, her husband John Corey, and her son Timothy Corey.
Carla is survived by her son, Mark Corey; her daughter, Debra Meattey; her son-in-law, Brendon Meattey; her grandsons, Daniel Corey and Andrew Corey; her granddaughters, Jessie Tennis, Rebecca Meattey, and Serena Edwards; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
Carla will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and devotion to her family.
Family and Friends may call from 10-11am on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Rte. 4) Lee, NH 03861. A service will begin at 11am. A graveside service will take place at 12pm at Lee Hill Cemetery, Lee, NH.
