Thomas Comeau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Purdy Memorial Chapel - Lee on Feb. 11, 2026.
Thomas A. Comeau

Barrington, NH: Thomas Adrien Comeau, 69, of Barrington passed peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital with family by his side.

Tom was born on April 20, 1956, in Saugus, Massachusetts; the son of Joseph H. and Barbara (Fillion) Comeau.

Tom attended schools in Lynn Massachusetts and graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute in 1974. After graduation, Tom began a 35-year career at Massport. He started at the Massport Parking Garage in 1974 before joining the Massport Fire Department. Tom climbed the ranks to Assistant Chief of Training and retired after a fulfilling career in public service.

Tom met his wife, Andrea, in high school and began dating at 15 and 16 years of age. Tom and Andrea were married for 47 years and shared many wonderful memories traveling to Bar Harbor, Nova Scotia and across New England for Jen and Craigs sporting events.

Among Tom's many accomplishments, none brought him greater pride than being a grandfather. Tom adored Coral, Winter, Molly and Matthew. He also embraced Haidyn and Milie Pinhero as his own grandchildren. If there was an event for one of the grandchildren, you would find Tom there. Tom spent countless hours at gymnastics meets and cheer competitions, karate classes, field hockey, volleyball and softball games. Tom took the time to learn about video games and YouTube too. Through the years Tom was able to share so much of his wisdom and knowledge with the grandchildren as well. Some of their favorite things Tom taught them were how to make pancakes, how to mow the lawn and care for animals, how to enjoy being outside, and most importantly that everyone deserves a second chance.

Not only was Tom an amazing Papa to his grandchildren but he was truly a Papa to all. Through the years Tom has made a lasting impact on so many.

Tom is survived by his mother, Barbara Comeau; daughter, Jennifer Comeau, and her two daughters, Coral and Winter Brooks of Barrington; Craig Comeau, and his wife Heather and their two children, Molly and Matthew, of Somersworth; sister Linda Bair; sister Denise Thibault and her husband Mike; brother John Comeau; brother Robert Comeau and his wife Theresa; many nieces and nephews and countless amazing friends.

Tom was predeceased by his wife, Andrea Comeau; his father, Joseph Comeau; his brother Joseph Comeau Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Toms name to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (Donate to HDSA Donation Page). Tom cared deeply for his wife Andrea while she battled Huntington's disease and encouraged people to support the research efforts so others may have an easier road.

Friends and family may call from 10am-12pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Purdy Memorial Chapel at 2 Concord Rd, Lee, NH. A service will be held at 12pm at Purdy Memorial Chapel, with a reception to follow at the Dover Moose Lodge at 45 Chestnut St., Dover, NH.
