Carla Sue Davis entered the Kingdom of Heaven on June 12, 2025. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Paul Davis; their treasured son, Brent Davis and his wife, Jennifer; and her cherished grandson, Will Davis.
Born in Rockwall County on January 5, 1945, Sue was a proud lifelong resident. She graduated from Rockwall High School in 1963 and earned her degree from The University of North Texas in 1967. She went on to teach first grade in Richardson ISD, where she touched many young lives with her warmth, joy, and deep love of learning.
Sue married the love of her life, Paul, on September 12, 1964, at First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, commitment, and shared faith. A dedicated member of Lakepointe Church for over 40 years, Sue led Ladies Bible Studies for more than two decades and served faithfully in both the evangelism and hospitality ministries. She delighted in helping others accept the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus.
Deeply committed to her community, Sue served on the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees from 1984 to 1991 and was a longtime member of the Rockwall Women's League, where she served as Charity Ball Chairman in 1987. Her involvement also included Amica, Delta Kappa Gamma, Friends of the Rockwall County Library, Lakeside Book Club, and Moms in Prayer International's GMOMS group-a weekly prayer group of grandmothers who pray God's word over their grandchildren.
Sue found beauty and delight in life's simplest pleasures-watching birds and pink sunsets, decorating and antiquing, setting a fine table for afternoon tea, and talking scripture with Ken or anyone willing to listen. Her love for all things Rockwall and everything pink was unmatched, and her heart for service and hospitality left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She also leaves behind her sister, Nancy Archibald and husband, Ken; niece, Abby Sue McKinney and husband, JC; nephew, Andy Archibald and wife, Abby Kathleen; great-nephew, Tripp McKinney; great-nieces, Tillie McKinney, Allison Archibald, and Annalee Sue Archibald; and step-grandchildren, Dylan Odom and wife, Allie, Lacey Odom, and Emma Odom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardie and Mattie Watson Mays.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, June 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall. A celebration of Sue's life will take place on Tuesday, June 17, at 2:00 p.m. at The Bridge at Lakepointe Church.
In honor of Sue's life and legacy, may we all strive to love deeply, serve joyfully, and live faithfully.
