Carla Hackstedt Obituary Carla Jean Hackstedt 67 of LaPorte, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born August 15, 1956 in Rochester, Indiana to Elmer L. and Betty J. (Prickett) Overmyer. On June 7, 1980, she married Glenn A. Hackstedt who survives. Also surviving her are her children Cassie (Michael V.) Ventrella of Westille and Andrew (Amy) Hackstedt of LaPorte; two grandchildren Alexander Ventrella and Keira Hackstedt. Carla is a member of Door Village United Methodist Church and an Indiana Rural Youth member. She was 4-H Leader. Carla loved farming. She loved taking care of animals, driving the tractor while bailing hay with her husband. Horseback riding, being outdoors and enjoying the woods were other ways she enjoyed spending her time. Funeral services will be on 11:00 AM, Friday, April 5th at Newhard Funeral Home in Westville. Chaplain Andrew Paton will officiate. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials can be made to the family. www.newhardfuneralhome.com
