Frances Koteras Hackstedt, age 100, passed away in Richmond, Texas on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Frances was born in Crabb, Texas to Joe and Eva Koteras.
Frances was dearly loved by her family and is survived by her children Joann Lewis, Otto Hackstedt, Jr. and wife Vickie, Joyce Kovar, and Sarah Kovar and husband Wayne. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren Sheila Phillips and husband Sherman, Brian Hackstedt and wife Hilda, Tammy Scheffer, Donald Kovar, Theresa Gage and husband Dan, Shelly Johnson and husband Raymond, Kevin Kovar and wife Michelle, twelve great grandchildren Sean Phillips, Megan, Crystal and Brooke Hackstedt, Trace and Carter Scheffer, Kylie Marler, Madelyn Warner and husband Justin, Mason and Mikayla Gage, Raelynn and Logan Kovar, and one great great grandchild Ellie Warner.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otto Hackstedt, Sr., her parents, brothers Johnny, Tony, Alfred, Chester, and Freeman Koteras, and sisters Adela Bettin and Clara Gonyo.
Her beloved dog Rita held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening, camping, and especially fishing. She was well known for her tenacity and infectious smile and will be greatly missed.
The family welcomes all to the visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, followed by a graveside service being held at 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, Texas.
