Carla Morris

Carla Morris, 44, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on January 30, 2026.

Carla was born on June 15, 1981, in New Haven, Connecticut, to her loving parents Debra Morris and Johnell Brown. She attended New Haven Public Schools and later dedicated her life to caring for others, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Carla's smile was contagious. She brought joy wherever she went, and if there was music playing, you could count on her being the first one on the dance floor. She was known for always trying her best.

For many years, Carla worked as a supervisor and caretaker, serving others with compassion and strength. Behind her caring spirit, she also carried a quiet passion, a secret love for poetry.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents Debra Morris and Johnell Brown, her biological father Erwin Glenn Sheppard, her daughter Shaquaza Morris, and her brother Erwin Tate.

Carla leaves to cherish her memory her children Ronnie Morris, Tyla-Marie, and Tycaree Sledge; her beloved granddaughters Alyla Holmes and Anastasia Morris; her siblings Yolanda, Crystal, and Veronica Morris, Gwendaline Tart, Lorraine Ormond, Travis, Allan, Brianna, and Zakita Sheppard, along with many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
