Carla Jean Schaefer
July 21,1951 -July 31,2025
Carla was born July 21, 1951 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Carla was the oldest of three children. She grew up in a military family and spent her childhood in places such as Germany, Morocco, Minnesota and North Dakota. Carla graduated from Dickinson high school in 1969. Upon graduation, Carla married and had two daughters Lisa and Laurie. Carla started nursing school in 1977 and became a registered nurse and served in the nursing field for almost 40 years.
Carla is survived by her two daughters Lisa (Jayme) Frank of Fargo, North Dakota, Laurie(Jimmy) Lindemann of Sugar Land, Texas, and son-in-law Randy Prindle. Carla was blessed with six grandchildren: Lisa's children: RJ Prindle, Brianna Meek, Cynthia Moreno and Manolito Prindle. Laurie's children : Rickie and Jimmy Lindemann, 2 great grandchildren : Matthew Meek, and Annalicia Moreno. Sister Susie (John) Sticka of Pryor Oklahoma and brother Rick Voris of Melissa Texas. Carla is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Florence Voris.
Carla was a sassy, feisty kind hearted beautiful soul. Her sense of humor knew no boundaries such as hiding a rubber snake inside your toilet. You never knew when the prank was gonna get you, but you had to be prepared because she was very witty about it.
Carla had a deep love of animals as she had many cats throughout her life. She was very passionate about adopting pets who were abandoned and routinely donated to the humane society. "Adopt don't shop"
Carla loved playing cards, especially Gin Rummy. She loved going to bingo, and not only did she play her own cards, by the middle of the evening she would end up playing 15 cards because because anyone she brought with could not keep up with her dabbing skills.
Carla was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed beyond comprehension. To all of Mom's friends, she loved and cherished you all. We thank everyone for the love and support and know that our mother lead a full beautiful life and left this world with her daughter's by her side.
