Carla Weeks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McAlpin Funeral Home - Sneads on Mar. 1, 2026.
Carla Renee Weeks, a cherished soul known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her compassionate heart, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Panama City, Florida. Born on January 18, 1972, in Marianna, Florida, Carla's life was a testament to love, service, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Carla's journey began as a proud graduate of Marianna High School in 1991. Her early years were spent in the warm embrace of Jackson County, where she was an inspiration of kindness and a friend to many. Carla's professional path was as diverse as it was impactful. After high school, she explored the world of retail before finding her calling in public service. Her dedication led her to complete Correctional Officer training, and she served with distinction at the Florida Department of Corrections. Yet, it was her transition to nursing that truly captured her spirit. Carla's time as a nurse was marked by her gentle touch and the genuine care she provided to those in need. Her family fondly recalls how she often spoke of nursing as the most rewarding chapter of her career.

Carla's life was a reflection of her faith. As a Christian, she found strength and solace in her beliefs. She was a regular attendee of Sneads First United Methodist Church, where she nurtured her spiritual life and formed lasting bonds with her community.

A lover of life's simple joys, Carla found happiness in the thrill of a good yard sale or thrift shop find. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and her dishes were the centerpiece of countless family gatherings. Travel held a special place in Carla's heart, particularly her cherished trips to the mountains, which she adored.

Above all, Carla's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be treasured by her devoted husband of 26 years, Carl R. Weeks, and their children, Kimberly Leath, Danny Weeks, and Tony Weeks (Carolyn). Her sisters, Carrie Key and Starlynn Gibson, and her brother, Wayne Key, will remember her as a guiding light in their lives. Carla's seven grandchildren, Haylee, Sarah, Greyson, Laiklyn, Emberleigh, Lorie-Kate, and Carly, will grow up with stories of her kindness and grace. Her uncle, Foy Harrison, will miss her presence dearly.

Preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Wayne and Rachel Harrison Key, Carla's spirit will continue to live on through the cherished memories of her loved ones.

Carla Renee Weeks was a woman of grace, a nurturer by nature, and a friend to all. Her departure from this world leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, compassion, and joy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. As we say farewell to Carla, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will continue to inspire us every day.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time with a funeral service at 11:00 AM Central Time at McAlpin Funeral Home 8261 US-90 Sneads, FL 32460. Interment will be in Dykes Cemetery in Marianna, Florida.

Serving as pallbearers are Charles McDaniel, Derek Mercer, Jason Williford, Danny Weeks, Tony Weeks, and Scott Hartsfield.
